Triceps brachii muscle
Radial nerve ad profunda brachii vessels in radial groove
A part of ulnar nerve
Triceps
Brachii:
Origin :
Long head – from the infraglenoid tubercle of scapula.
Lateral head – Lateral lip of spiral groove and behind the
deltoid tuberosity.
Medial head – posterior surface of the humerus below the
spiral groove.
Insertion :
Posterior
part of the upper surface of the olecranon process.
Nerve supply : Radial Nerve
Actions:
Extensor of elbow joint
Long head supports the head of humerus in abduction of
shoulder joint.
FOR DISSECTION OF BACK OF ARM, WATCH THIS VIDEO:
RADIAL GROOVE: (spiral groove)
Present in the middle one third of the posterior surface of
humerus.
